Welcoming a new baby into the world is a whirlwind of emotions, snuggles, sleepless nights, and—if you’re lucky—a good cup of coffee every now and then. At Meg Bingham Photography, I specialize in capturing those sweet, fleeting newborn days in a way that’s relaxed, genuine, and full of heart. Whether we’re shooting in your cozy home or at my studio near Vancouver, Washington, I want you to feel completely at ease from start to finish.
So, what exactly can you expect from your newborn session? Let’s walk through it together!
The best time to reach out is during your second trimester, to ensure availability around your due date. I pencil in your estimated due date and we’ll finalize the date once your baby arrives. If you’ve passed the second semester, don’t fret! There’s a chance that I still have room for you, so definitely reach out. Newborn sessions typically happen within the first 7–14 days after birth—when babies are still extra sleepy and squishy (just how we like them for those sweet, curled-up poses!).
Whether we’re in your living room or in my studio, the pace of your session will always be relaxed and baby-focused. I work around feedings and diaper changes, allowing plenty of time to keep baby happy and comfortable. There’s no rushing, and no stress. I schedule ample time to account for the unexpected – because babies have their own agenda! In between all of that, I’ll be there to capture the snuggles, soft coos, and genuine moments with your little love, guiding you along the way with gentle prompts and natural poses.
There’s something so meaningful about photographing your baby in the very space you brought them home to. In-home sessions are perfect for families who love a documentary-style, natural feel to their photos. I’ll use the best available light (hello, window glow!) and lightly direct moments to keep everything simple and authentic.
If you’d rather skip the tidying or you just prefer the look of the studio and want to come to me, I’ve got you covered! My Washougal, Wa studio is fully equipped for newborn sessions and designed with comfort in mind.
No matter which setting you choose, my goal is to make your newborn session an easy, joyful experience. I want you to look back on these images and feel all the love, tenderness, and tiny details that define this incredible season of life.
If you’re in the Vancouver, Washington area and expecting a little one soon, I’d be honored to document these first moments with your growing family.
